Saturday Layout Challenge – Inspirations

What a beautiful weekend we are having here in the Midwest. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and it is warm and spring like, finally! All of these nice sights made me start thinking about what inspires me. Why not create a layout about your favorite things that inspire you to be a better person, inspire you to create, inspire you to do whatever it is you do. I am a nature nut, so I tend to get inspired by almost anything outdoors. I thought it would be great if I created a layout showing some of my … Continue reading

A Little “Hump-Day” Inspiration

I was watching the President’s State of the Union Address a few moments ago and was thrilled when he invited Julie Aigner-Clark of Colorado to stand for applause. The name Julie Aigner-Clark may not ring a bell to you, but if you are the mother of preschoolers (or even young elementary students) I’ll bet you’ve heard of Baby Einstein before. I’ll never forget the first time I saw a Baby Einstein video. One of my girlfriends gave it to me when my daughter was teething. My baby was mesmerized the moment she saw the puppets and toys dance across the … Continue reading

HumpDay Challenge

Use what talent you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best. Henry Van Dyke It’s Hump Day. Wednesday. The middle of the week. We’re closing in on Friday and we’ve got a lot to do so we can enjoy the weekend. With that in mind, today, we’re going to talk about a different aspect of fitness. As I have stated many times in this blog, fitness is about more than an exercise or diet regimen. It’s about a lifestyle commitment that involves exercise, regular sleep, decreased stress and a healthy diet. … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Week in Review For April 14-20, 2008

With the sunshine replacing many of the rainy days we have been having, I have been trying to enjoy the weather whenever I can. This means I don’t have as much time to scrapbook, but it does mean I have a bit more time to write as I bring my laptop to the park or wherever I am planning on going. This is what I wrote while I was out and about this week. Adding a Bit of Flair on Layouts With Chalk Chalks, also known as pastels are so much fun to use on your scrapbook layouts. The vast … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Week in Review for April 1-6, 2008 with a Few Extras

I don’t know what it was like for you in your neck of the woods this past weekend, but our area was absolutely beautiful and was the closest resemblance to Spring that we’ve had since last year. We got some flowers planted, grass seed poured and enjoyed the outdoors as much as we could. Days like those are hard to find to scrapbook, because you want to enjoy the weather, but you can always do it at night or early in the morning. Remember to make time for it, while still enjoying the beautiful weather. Here is what has been … Continue reading

Why Should I Participate in Scrapbooking Challenges

It seems that everywhere I look these days, scrapbooker’s are putting out challenges to other scrapbooker’s to try new and different things, make others think outside the box and expose them to valuable experiences. In fact there are entire blogs and we have a whole section dedicated to challenges. So why do scrapbooker’s participate in all of these challenges? And should you? This is absolutely up to you. But here are a few benefits from joining in on these challenges. Motivation – Most of us probably need a little push here and there to get caught up and stay caught … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Withdrawal and How I Conquered It

First I would like to say it is really nice to be back and cozy with my family at families.com. I have missed you all while I took a break in November to get some writing done and other projects. I am happy to be back and look forward to sharing some all new and fun articles to get you on your scrapbooking way. Now, onto the bigger statement at hand. I suffered from Scrapbooking Withdrawal during all the time. I had absolutely no spare minutes to spend doing one of the things I love to do most. So I … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Week in Review for October 15-21, 2007

With so much going on in the Fall and Winter months, all the holidays and events that occur, it is hard to find time for scrapbooking. That is why the scrapbooking blog provides inspiration, ideas and tips and techniques to make scrapbooking easier. Let’s take a look at what has been happening in the Scrapbooking Blog. The Coordinated Scrapbook Page As a die-hard scrapbook supply addict, the kind that must own everything because well, you know you will use it someday, I love a good scrapbook store; the bigger the better. When I enter any scrapbook store, I tend to … Continue reading

Millionaire Moms on Oprah and The View

I need to start this blog entry with a bit of a disclaimer. Please don’t think that I sit around and watch daytime talk shows all day. I just watch them *most* of the day, and I have never, ever eaten a bon-bon while doing so. (End of disclaimer). I actually have a valid reason for vegging in front of the TV this afternoon…blog research, of course! Both Oprah and The View featured “millionaire moms” and I couldn’t wait to share two inspiring stories with you. The first multi-millionaire that was featured on The View this morning was a single … Continue reading
