Blood Sugar Affects My Business

I confess, my blood sugar levels definitely affect my business operations. Perhaps that is rather uncool, and certainly not something you are likely to read about in one of the high-end business publications—but my productivity and temperament are directly related to what I have or have not eaten during the course of the work day… I know that I cannot embark on a big project or sit down to a long-distance negotiating phone call on an empty stomach. As a matter of fact, even though I can jump-start my work day with a cup or two of coffee, I really … Continue reading

Better than Energy Drinks

I feel like I’m seeing a LOT of commercials for energy drinks on television lately. But I’ll be honest: energy drinks scare me a little. I imagine that they’re full of sugar or caffeine, or both — giving you a quick jolt of energy, sure, but in the long run, probably not that great for your health. I’ll admit that I went for … Continue reading

As thick-skinned and as level-minded as I try to be, getting notes, e-mails, phone calls, etc. of criticism can set me aback. I have to work on being able to take criticism with a grain of salt… Criticism can be extremely helpful, of course. We know that getting feedback from customers, clients, colleagues, etc. can help us to make necessary improvements to … Continue reading
