Businesses Need Celebrations Too

There is a reason corporations and businesses celebrate grand openings and anniversaries. Yes, part of it has to do with generating sales and boosting revenue, but part of it is that celebrations boost moral and prove very good public relations activities. Even a little home-based business can benefit from incorporating a few celebrations throughout the year.

The anniversary of when you started your business is a great event to celebrate. It is inspiring to commemorate the years as you build your business and share it with the customers and clients who helped you get there. You can offer a special discount or even have a little party or celebration and invite your best customers to participate. Some businesses choose to incorporate national or other holidays into their businesses and use them as a reason to celebrate. This can be a great way to add some festivity and tie your sales and marketing into current events. You might consider little-known holidays, so you can have them all to yourself.

So, what are some other things to celebrate? An expansion or staring a new product line or service, taking on a partner, making your first $50,000 or $100,000 or whatever, any awards or recognition you might receive, etc. You see that as you start to think about it, there are all sorts of creative events and milestones you can celebrate with your home business. And, just exactly HOW you celebrate those milestones can be just as creative. You don't even have to involve your customers and clients if you don't want to (although it is such a great public relations activity and a good excuse to cultivate people). Just commemorating your milestones within your home business can be a motivating and inspiring thing to do. We need whatever encouragement, pleasure, and motivation we can drum up!
