Why do I Get Suspicious when Things go Smoothly?

I like to think that I am an optimist at heart. When it comes to my home business and work efforts, however, I have to be honest-I tend to expect things to be rough and hard. When things are going smoothly and seem to be falling into place, I get quite skeptical.

Recently I was having lunch with an old friend and former co-worker who referred to herself as "semi-retired." What a marvelous ring that moniker had and I realized that one of the motivating reasons for starting my own home-based business had been that I wanted to work toward semi-retirement.

We all have little hobbies and things we do that can help us get settled or regroup. Some of us even have favorite chores or tasks that can almost be like therapy. For me, one of the benefits of working at home is that I can take a "vacuum break" when I need to clear my mind or find inspiration.
