Finding Inner Strength for Your Business

I know that we generally think of topics like "inner strength" as being reserved for personal issues and relationships and other big life topics-but I think it has a place in our business operations too. After all, it takes personal strength and fortitude, as well as responsibility, dedication, and all sorts of other character traits to make a successful go at running a home business-why not focus on digging down and finding the personal strength that might be needed?

I have found that the most important step in finding the personal inner strength to deal with things that come along in my work in business is to first trust that they will be there and that I can handle anything. This can be a hard one-especially if we have grown up in a situation or are coming out of a situation where we have experienced a lot of doubt and mistrust. If we have heard people tell us that they didn't think we can handle things, or wonder how we will ever be able to operate our own business, it can be tough to actually believe in our own capabilities. We have to get past those outside voices and start telling ourselves that we know we can do it-no matter what!

Inner strength is really a mental belief system-we believe that we can handle things, we may not know exactly how, we many not see the light at the end of the tunnel yet, but we just know that we can find what it takes to face whatever comes. This is inner strength. When it comes to our business operations, we are faced with the unpredictable on a daily basis and while we shouldn't expect ourselves to have all the answers all the time, we do have the inner strength to find the answers, get help, or discover new sides of ourselves to face the inevitable challenges.
