How to Make a Million Dollars (A Dollar at a Time)by Sherry Holetzky | More from this Blogger 31 Oct 2006 06:12 AM Most people will glance at the title or an ad with similar copy out of curiosity, despite the fact that the little voice inside is saying, "It's a trick! Don't even look!" Well, that little voice is right, "it ain't gonna happen." The only way you are going to make a quick million dollars, one dollar at a time, is by ripping off other people who are also looking for moneymaking opportunities. I remember a similar ad. I had to laugh when I saw it. "Do you want to make a million dollars? Just send one dollar to learn how!" I imagined sending in my dollar and receiving a letter that advised me to put a similar ad in the paper to pull one dollar from every unsuspecting person who might come across it. Even though I knew it would not result in any legitimate income producing advice, I sent my dollar, just because I was curious. I never received anything. I came across another ad asking for $ 2.00. Still curious, I figured, hey it's two bucks. Let's see what they're trying to pull. Instead of sending two singles, I sent a check for two dollars. It was returned, surprise, surprise, with a request for cash. Wouldn't want there to be a record of the transaction, now would we? So, not only are people who engage in these scams ripping off consumers, they're also hiding their income from Uncle Sam. I don't know about you, but I certainly don't relish the thought of being audited or charged with fraud. Besides, I have a conscience. There are legitimate home businesses and work at home opportunities out there, so don't get discouraged. Just think of the effort you're putting in as being comparable to looking for any other kind of job. It's the job search that usually ends up being the hardest part, so keep looking until you find a legitimate opportunity that suits you.
